Idemitsu Coal Mining

Idemitsu Australia Resources Pty Ltd (IAR) is an Australian subsidiary of the Japanese Company, Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. IAR was formed in 2006 to manage Idemitsu Kosan's Australian coal operations.  IAR are the owners of the Boggabri and Muswellbrook Coal Mines in New South Wales, joint venture partners in the Tarrawonga Coal Project (NSW) and also a joint venture partner in the Ensham mine in Queensland.

Combined these operations produce over 10Mtpa of Thermal and PCI coals for export to overseas customers predominately in Asia.  IAR is continuing to develop its assets with the expansion of the Boggabri Coal Mine and assessing development projects including the West Muswellbrook project and the Ensham underground project.
