IAR is committed to achieving increasing occupational health and safety performance through the continual improvement of the IAR Integrated Management System.
To achieve this commitment, IAR has established and maintains high standards for people, processes, plant and the working environment. Workers are also involved by identifying and reporting risks and are provided with high level training which provides effective and efficient planning and implementation of the system.
IAR through its subsidaries have established an excellent safety record. Up to the 30th September 2009, Boggabri Mine and Muswellbrook Mine has achieved 1266 days and 708 days LTI free respectively.
