Operations |
The Tarrawonga open cut mine commenced production in 2006. Coal is uncovered by a fleet of truck and excavators. Once exposed, coal is crushed and trucked 40 km to Whitehaven's Gunnedah CHPP. The coal is then washed and railed to Newcastle. Mining operations are performed by Tarrawonga Coal Pty Ltd. |
